The magazine was more like £8 (so that's roughly $16) and there wasn't even a garuentee you'd get one.
So... yeah.

Yay, I won a mini Shiroken Assassin !!!, Anet haven't gave it to me though, the webpage says they will give it to me within 10 days.
How much is worth by the way? I think I will keep it though.

Europeans at least got the option to try their luck and buy a Mini Destroyer. Here in Australia, we've had nothing for a while, so we're used to it

My economics teacher explained to me how Quebec has these strict rules that companies have to abide by if they want to make sweeptakes or contests happen in QC. It's all there to protect us Quebecois, and I'm kind of happy, this way the consumer is protected in case of fraud or other things that happens.
I guess Anet or NC Soft (whichever) can't respect all the consumer safety laws in Quebec, o well.

What are you saying? What does your provincial "protective" laws have to do with a lack of "respect?!" We cannot offer this contest -- much as we would like to -- because of laws that "protect" you. Take it up with your government, please, but don't for an instant suggest that Quebecois need "protection" from us, or that our contest somehow flies in the face of "consumer safety!" That sort of implication is extremely offensive.

Euros had about 12 different regional promotions, and gave away many times the number offered in the Mini Mania Contest. I'm sorry that you are unhappy, but the giveaways this year has been more than fair to European players. The Mini Mania contest is a way to try to equalize things a bit for those in North America.
And in the future, it is my hope that we will not do regional promotions at all, or that if we do, they are absolutely equal in every way. Because the way things have gone this year, there has been a lot of finger-pointing, and claims of "favouritism" that really sets unhappily on those of us who care, passionately, about all players, in every corner of the world.

Buying a £5.99 magazine for the chance to win a pet is not fair. To be honest Gaile I'd rather have a sweepstakes promotion with less pets on offer, like the U.S, because at least that's free. I appreciate the prizes I really do, I just wish more people could enjoy them.

I am neither the government nor a member of Arena Net. I cannot answer anything with an ounce of truth. Yet what I said before was an affirmation, I did not implicate anything, however I did suggest that there was SOMETHING (which I do not know) that's behind the reason why these contest aren't available in my province. I tried to give a reasonable explanation, even with the lack of knowledge about the subject. You tell me why you can't offer this contest in Quebec? Let's see if you have a better answer then me.
If I lacked respect, you must excuse me, I was being ignorant.
